Our Desiccant Masterbatch is an easy-to-use moisture absorber in pellet form. You add it straight to your material, and it soaks up the moisture in recycled and new PE and PP so bubbles, pinholes and streaks stay out of the finished product, often without a separate drying step.
What is Desiccant Masterbatch?
A desiccant masterbatch is a moisture absorber that comes as small plastic pellets. Recycled plastic and raw material pick up moisture from the air, and when they heat up in the machine that moisture turns to steam and leaves pinholes, bubbles and streaks in the finished product. Our Desiccant Masterbatch, Poly Active, mixes in with your material and soaks up that moisture before it can cause trouble, with no dust and nothing special to add. It is an industrial additive dosed with the resin on your production line.
On most PE and PP lines it also saves you a separate drying step. It is an easy, cost-effective choice for everyday production, and it works especially well with recycled and slightly damp material. You run it on your usual machines with no changes, and your output stays clean and consistent.
